WBS SOLAR PUMP - - How to extend the service life of submersible pumps

Jul 2,2020

Small submersible pumps are small and light and play an important role in many ways. In order to avoid accidents during use, extend the service life, and exert its excellent performance, the following points should be noted when using:

1. To install a leakage protector

Submersible pumps work under water, which is easy to cause electricity loss and even cause electric shock. If a leakage protector is installed, as long as the leakage of the submersible pump exceeds a certain value (generally no more than 30 mA). The leakage protector will cut off the power supply of the submersible pump, avoiding leakage and wasting electrical energy, and ensuring safety.

2. Proper installation method

When installing the submersible pump, the cable should be overhead and the power cord should not be too long. Do not force the cable when the submersible pump is launched or when it is raised, as this may cause the power cord to break. Do not sink into the mud when the submersible pump is working, otherwise it will cause poor motor heat dissipation and burn the motor winding. During installation, the insulation resistance of the motor should not be less than 0.5 megohms.

3. Avoid starting up when the power supply voltage is abnormal

The power supply voltage and the rated voltage must not differ by 10%. Excessive voltage will cause the motor to overheat and burn the winding. If the voltage is too low, the motor speed will decrease. If it does not reach 70% of the rated speed, the start centrifugal switch will be closed, causing the start winding to be energized for a long time and heating or even burning the winding and capacitor.

4. Do not switch the motor frequently

This is because the electric pump will generate a backflow when it stops, and if it is turned on immediately, it will start the motor load, causing the starting current to be too large and burning the winding.

5. Never let the pump run abnormally

Don't let the pump run for a long time with overload. Do not pump water with large sand content. The dehydration operation time of the electric pump should not be too long to avoid overheating and burning of the motor. When the unit is in operation, the operator must always observe whether its operating voltage and current are within the values specified on the nameplate. If not, the motor should be stopped, find the cause and eliminate the fault. The direction of rotation of the motor must be correct. The direction of rotation of the motor should be understood. There are many types of submersible pumps that can produce water during forward rotation and reverse rotation, but the water output is small and the current is large during reverse rotation. It will damage the motor winding if the reversal time is long.
