WBS SOLAR PUMP - Analysis of the US photovoltaic market

Dec 27,2019

According to ITC data, the United States imported 5.9GW of photovoltaic modules and 1.1GW of solar cells in the first half of the year, both increasing compared with last year. Currently, about 10 states have joined the 100% renewable energy plan and will achieve zero carbon power in 25-30 years. The US energy storage market is worth looking forward to. According to Wood Mackenzie's forecast, from 2019 to 2024, the installed capacity of energy storage will increase by 10 times.

In the first quarter of 2019, the number of new PV installations in the United States was 2.7 GW, an increase of 10% compared to the first quarter of 2018. This is also the highest number in the first quarter of US history over the past quarter. In the first half of 2019, new photovoltaic installations in the United States accounted for 36% of the total new installed capacity. Photovoltaics is the largest renewable energy growth pole after natural gas.

In the first quarter of the United States, the amount of new 2.7GW growth in the first quarter of the first quarter of 2.7GW of new photovoltaics, of which Florida accounted for a total of 36%.

As of April 2019, Washington, D.C. and 20 states have adopted community solar policies, Connecticut and New Jersey enacted legislation in 2018, and Utah, Nevada, and South Carolina enacted legislation to encourage community solar development of.

As of the end of 2018, in terms of installed capacity, 77% of rooftop photovoltaic solar installations were concentrated in the first five states, of which Minnesota accounted for 39%. In terms of power generation, 85% of rooftop photovoltaic solar power generation is concentrated in the first five states, of which Minnesota accounts for 55%.

Wood Mackenzie predicts that from 2020, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, etc. will switch to the new approval model, and photovoltaic installations will achieve significant growth.
